Governor of the Vladimir region Svetlana Orlova, during her speech at the forum “Russia – a sports power”, called on Western countries not to lift sanctions,
“I told the Germans when the St. Petersburg Dialogue took place: you don’t understand our nature. The worse you do to us, the stronger we become. We are such a people. And keep the sanctions longer. The village was simply flooded. Everywhere, in all areas,” Orlova said.

What can I say, a very far-sighted politician, the village was flooded, a very important indicator. Putin is already demanding the lifting of sanctions with the payment of compensation, but she is all about her own things. But here you don’t need to be smart; Russia’s GDP has been showing a decline for the third year now, and it began just after the introduction of sanctions. And now simple arithmetic, GDP is falling, but agriculture is growing, agriculture is one of the components. This means that the remaining components of the economy are falling much faster than agriculture is growing. Calls for extending sanctions essentially show the stupidity of those who pronounce them, let’s imagine that the sanctions will last another 10 years, agriculture will reach new heights, Russia will become a developed... agricultural country. The industry will completely collapse, many residents will be forced to go into agriculture for lower wages due to lack of work, which will reduce the overall standard of living. In essence, this is a regression; most countries are trying to move away from the agricultural type of economy, but we are being asked to return to it.
