Five Russian athletes are disqualified for doping

The sports arbitration court in Lausanne disqualified for violation of the anti-doping rules of the Russian walkers Ivan Noskov, Mikhail Ryzhov, Vera Sokolova, Denis Strelkov and Elmir Alemon, the CAS press service reports . Athletes are removed from the competition for four years.

The samples of all these athletes, taken on June 2, 2015, gave a positive result for erythropoetin.

The termination of the removal of Alembecova is counted from July 17, 2016, the disqualification of other athletes - from July 15, 2016. All the results of Russian walkers in the period from June 2, 2015 to July 15, 2015 (in the case of Alemonova - until July 17) will be canceled.

Noskov is a bronze medalist in the 2014 European Championship in sports walking at a distance of 50 km. In 2013, Ryzhov won a silver medal in 50 km walking at the World Cup in Moscow. Sokolova in 2010 won the bronze of the European Championship at a distance of 20 km. Strelkov showed the third result in 20 km walking at the 2014 European Championship. Alembkova is the winner of the European Championship 2014 at a distance of 20 km.

Over the past few years, a series of doping scandals shook Russian sports walking. This led to the disqualification of a number of domestic athletes, including Olympic champions .

On March 25, the All -Russian Athletics Federation for life has disqualified the former head of the Olympic training center in Saransk, the sports walking coach Viktor Chegin. The investigation against him lasted a year and a half. Rusada managed to prove the involvement of Chegin "in the scheme for the use of prohibited substances and methods" in the center of Olympic training.
