“The only novelty (in Biden’s statement. - Ed.) The fact that for the first time at such a high level the United States recognize that they are doing this and threaten to a certain extent,” Putin added. “Apparently, they are nervous.”

According to the Russian leader, such demars "do not comply with international communication."

Putin also accused Washington of an effort to introduce Russia to an enemy in order to divert attention from internal problems, which, according to the head of the Russian state, has many. “The image of the enemy in the form of Iran and the Iranian nuclear threat was not very effective,” he remarked. “In the case of Russia, this is more interesting.”

Earlier on Sunday, the Ministry of Defense of the Foreign Ministry Sergei Ryabkov called the US statements "screaming, like in a bazaar." “This is not even megaphone diplomacy, because there is no diplomacy here,” the official remarked. Like Putin, Ryabkov said that "Russia has turned into a map that is played out in the election struggle of the Americans." “In this situation, we are talking about playing on a certain side of the domestic political field and increasing the chances of one of the candidates for the election,” the official emphasized.

When asked if Washington’s statements should not be regarded as blackmail, Ryabkov replied: “Unfortunately, (from Washington. - Ed.) You can expect any most dramatic decisions.” In Moscow, the official added, "they do not even see a shade of understanding that the American side is aware of the seriousness of such actions."

As the NBC reported with reference to sources in American intelligence, the CIA was proposed to present options to the White House with a wide "secret" cyber attack against the Russian leadership. Preparations for it are conducted, the interlocutors of the TV channel said.

Retired Admiral James Stavridis suggested that the purpose of the attack may be data on financial fraud of persons from Putin's entourage.
