Two EXOMARS mission devices - the descent device Schiaparelli and the Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) orbital module - were separated from each other and continue to fly to Mars separately.
The Schiaparelli department was planned at 14:42 in Greenwich (17:42 Moscow time). After about 20 minutes, the European Space Agency (ESA) confirmed that the division was successful. The signal about this went to the ground for 9 minutes 36 seconds.
Shortly before the separation of the devices, an ESA employee named Pierre demonstrated how it will happen:
It is planned that Schiaparelli and Tgo will fly to Mars on October 19. TGO will have to start a maneuver for reaching the Martian orbit, and Schiaparelli - to land (it is planned at 14:42 by Greenwich, or 17:42 in Moscow).
