Half of Russians admitted to distrusting the media

More than half (51 percent) of Russians do not trust the media. This is evidenced by the data of the poll of the Public Opinion Foundation, cited by Interfax.

In August 2015, 41 percent of those surveyed admitted that they did not trust the media. The percentage of those who trust the media has since fallen from 47 to 41.

46 percent of survey participants said that the media cover the situation in the Russian economy biased. The same number of respondents believe that the situation in the economy is worse than it is reported in the media. At the same time, 62 percent of Russians, according to the FOM, “without much attention” to information about the Russian economy.

The fact that the economic situation in the country is worse than reported by the media was noted by 46% of survey participants, 28% called the economic information in the media consistent with reality, and only 7% believe that the media exaggerate, but in fact the situation in the economy is better. .
