Ildar Dadin was placed in a punishment cell

Civil activist Ildar Dadin, convicted for repeated participation in uncoordinated pickets, was transferred to strict conditions of detention, and is currently in a punishment cell (SHIZO). This was announced by his wife Anastasia Zotova. She came to the Karelian city of Segezha, to correctional colony No. 7, to give him a new program through the administration of the pre-trial detention center and get a date.

In the colony, Zotova was informed that there would be no visit, since Dadin was in the ShIZO. For what and for how long he was placed there is unknown. It turned out that the activist was transferred to strict conditions of detention, the details are also unknown.

Strict conditions of detention impose a number of additional restrictions on the convict. For example, only one transfer of 20 kg is allowed every four months, and a date is allowed only once every six months.

On December 7, 2015, Ildar Dadin was sentenced by the Basmanny Court to three years in prison under the article "repeated violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding a meeting, rally, demonstration, procession or picketing." Subsequently, the Moscow City Court reduced the term of imprisonment to two and a half years. Dadin was the first convicted under this article of the Criminal Code.

Currently, Ildar Dadin's complaint is under consideration in the Constitutional Court, and a complaint has also been sent to the European Court of Human Rights. Dadin's cassation appeal, despite the support of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation, was rejected by the Moscow City Court in early October.
