In total, OFCOM announced 15 violations of RT of television rules, after which he began a check against the channel.

In November 2014, OFCOM threatened RT with sanctions for the tendentious coverage of the war in Ukraine.

In September 2015, OFCOM closed TruthSeeker entering the RT program for violation of broadcasting principles. The programs of the program from the website of the TV channel were deleted.

The decision was made on the complaint of the BBC. In one of the issues, TruthSeeker stated that the BBC staged an attack with the use of chemical weapons in Syria to remove the report, and replaced the replicas of one of the plot heroes. It was argued that the “falsifications” of the BBC were found as a result of a “large-scale public investigation”.

A few weeks earlier, the BBVA British Bank blocked the transfer of money received from the sale of advertising in the UK. The bank management explained this decision by the fact that the general director of the Russian news agency "Russia Today" Dmitry Kiselev, who is extended by the sanctions of the European Union, can have an indirect relationship.

In July 2015, the Russian Federation today was arrested in London, despite the fact that the EU sanctions agency are not applying to this, and the account was not issued to Kiselev.
