Ukraine expanded sanctions against Russia

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has expanded sanctions against Russia. The corresponding document was published on the website of the head of state.

The new restrictions affect 250 individuals and 46 legal entities.

In addition, Kiev imposed sanctions on “responsible for the illegal persecution of Ukrainian citizens Oleg Sentsov, Oleksandr Kolchenko and others who were wrongfully detained, convicted, and are still illegally detained on the territory of Russia.”

Recall that Ukraine imposed sanctions on individuals and legal entities in the spring of 2014 due to the annexation of Crimea to Russia and the outbreak of an armed conflict in the south-east of Ukraine. Then the sanctions list was repeatedly supplemented.

In particular, at the end of August this year, Ukraine expanded the list of Russian citizens against whom personal sanctions are imposed.
