He noticed that the basement may be left, but there will be a new building on top, which will be given to the use of a charitable organization or the state department. The publication notes that although the executive authorities have already authorized these actions, they must still approve the parliament.
The statement of the minister was preceded by a long process of coordination in state structures, according to the results of which it was decided that the only possible option was to remove the house with the payment of compensation to the owner.
The Austrian authorities motivated their intention by the fact that they did not want to allow the formation in Brownow-on-Inn places that the neo-Nazis would honor.
The building in which Hitler was born was bought in 1938. After the fall of the Third Reich, in 1952 the house was returned to the Pommer family. In subsequent years, it housed various humanitarian institutions, since 2011 the house has been empty.
On the contrary, the memorial was established to the victims of Hitler's regime with the inscription “For freedom, peace and democracy. We will not allow fascism again, millions of dead are asking us about it. ”
