Nokia will release two Android smartphones in the second quarter of 2017

In May this year, Nokia announced a strategic agreement with the Finnish HMD Global, under which HMD Global received a global license to create mobile phones and tablets under the Nokia brand over the next 10 years. At the same time, it was clarified that HMD will produce smartphones running Android OS.

Since then, various rumors have appeared on the Internet about future devices under the Finnish company’s brand. So, the other day, James Rutherfurd, head of Microsoft’s mobile division in the Asia-Pacific region, announced HMD’s plans to release two new mobile phones at the end of this year and two smartphones at the beginning of the second quarter of next year, writes Phone Arena . Previously, it was Microsoft that acquired Nokia's mobile division and owned the rights to produce smartphones under the company's brand.

Let us remind you that, according to rumors that appeared in July of this year, HMD Global and Nokia are working on flagship smartphones that will have metal cases, 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch OLED displays with a resolution of 2560*1440 pixels, as well as Qualcomm processors Snapdragon 820. The main camera of both devices will have a resolution of 22.6 megapixels.

Presumably, both smartphones will also receive protection from water and dust according to the IP68 standard. Z-Launcher with the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system will be installed as a shell.
