The police, under threat of arrest, drove the cars of animal activists away from the shelter in Biryulyovo

On October 18, under the threat of detaining the activists, police moved their cars, blocking the entrance to the animal shelter in Biryulyovo. This was announced to OVD-Info by animal rights activist Yury Koretskikh. According to him, in addition to the police, riot police also came to the shelter.

After the passage was cleared, a garbage truck drove inside. Activists fear that it threatens that the leadership of the shelter will be able to hide the violations.

Zooprotectors have been on duty at the entrance to the shelter since the evening of October 17, blocking entry and exit. The duty was organized after information appeared that the workers of the shelter did not receive a salary, and the animals were not fed. Activists demand to appoint another management company in the shelter instead of the BANO "Eco" operating there. In the spring of 2016, animal rights activists learned that hundreds of animals had died at the Vishnyaki shelter run by this company.
