The chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, awarded the former official representative of the department Vladimir Markin by the Merit medal. This was reported on the SK website.
“[Markin], from scratch, built an information policy based on the principles of openness and efficiency, proposing completely new, very bold and eventually justified approaches to work from the mass media. This allowed the Investigative Committee to become one of the recognizable law enforcement agencies with an individual image and the priority of a qualitative approach in covering events related to its competence, ”Bastrykin said.
The head of the UK thanked Markin for the service and invited him to join the Public Council under the department. As noted in the message, Markin accepted this proposal.
Vladimir Markin held in the UK the post of head of the Department for Interaction with the Media since 2011, when the department became independent. On September 21, 2016, he filed a resignation report.
On October 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the dismissal of Markin from the post of official representative of the UK. On October 12, he took office as the first deputy leader RusHydro.
Markin himself stated that he would continue to help the UK after dismissal from the department, "to provide some methodological assistance, and also, if there is time, participate in creative projects." In particular, he spoke about the plans to create a specialized Channel “Snow-TV”.
