1916 The sinking of the battleship "Empress Maria"

One hundred years ago, on October 20, 1916, the flagship dreadnought "Empress Maria" exploded in Sevastopol. 225 people were killed, another 85 sailors were seriously injured. The most likely cause of the disaster, the commission of inquiry called spontaneous combustion of gunpowder or careless handling of fire, which caused a fire in the bow cellar and an explosion of gunpowder and shells in it. The possibility of sabotage was not ruled out.
