In St. Petersburg, the court dismissed the case of Fontanka correspondent Denis Korotkov, who, after the exposure of the “carousel” at one of the polling stations on September 18, drew up a report on “illegal receipt of a ballot” (5.22 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

According to Fontanka, after examining the evidence, among which was a videotape made by Korotkov at the station, the judge decided to dismiss the case due to the lack of corpus delicti.

"Do you plead guilty?" asked Judge Safryuk Korotkova. “What, Your Honor, should I confess? The phrase about the goal of voting was born only in the inflamed imagination of a police officer, nowhere else. Senior Lieutenant Smirnova and her leaders knew for sure that I immediately handed in the ballots and drew attention to the falsification myself, ”the correspondent replied.
