Another Progressive Left May Day member fined

On October 19, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow found Elena Sinelnikova, a participant in the “May Day of Progressive Left,” guilty of violating the established procedure for holding a public rally (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) and imposed the maximum fine of 20,000 rubles. Nikolai Kavkazsky, a lawyer for the LGBT organization Stimul, told OVD-Info about this over the phone.

According to the lawyer, the judge refused to satisfy almost all of the defense's requests, and the police and other witnesses were refused to be called. A large fine was imposed, despite the fact that Sinelnikova was brought to administrative responsibility for the first time. Kavkazsky was forced to ask for the judge's recusal, which he was also denied.

In addition to Sinelnikova, Marta Khromova was scheduled to have a trial on October 19, and she was also detained. The outcome of the review is currently unknown. Today another trial was supposed to take place in the same case, with Reida Lynn, its result is also unknown at the moment. Lynn and her partner asked for political asylum in France at the end of August.

On May 1, ten people were detained , all of them were taken to the police, and reports were drawn up against them. In June, the first participant, Dmitry Yartsev, was fined . At the end of the month, three more (Asya Kunz, Anna Vasyukova and Sasha Krikkerik) were fined 10,000 rubles.
