On the afternoon of October 21, the Presnensky court of Moscow sent Dmitry Demushkin under house arrest for two months. According to the court, Demushkin systematically violated the recognizance not to leave, in particular, he left Moscow, and on July 25-27, 2016 he traveled to Astrakhan without the permission of the court. Demushkin denied this: “[Permission was given] Judge Vanin. Now they say that this is not in the case, the judge quit, and there is no one to check. ” Protection is going to appeal the decision.

The detention of Demushkin at his house was carried out by employees of the Investigative Committee. The nationalist told Interfax that he was going to change the “measure of restraint in the old case”, and suggested that the detention is related to the application for the “Russian march” in Moscow on November 4, which he submitted.

A criminal case has been instituted on Demushkin under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (incitement of interethnic razor) . The investigation has been ongoing since December 2015. The reason for the initiation of the case was photographs from the 2014 Russian march, which the nationalist posted on his VKontakte page; The examination recognized them extremist. The page was later deleted at the request of the court. On June 14, 2016, the Nagatinsky court sent the case for the investigation. According to the lawyer Demushkin Mikhail Tikhonov, after which the investigator only once called a politician to himself. Demushkin is also a defendant in a criminal case under Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (calls for extremist activity) - he was brought up in June 2015. He is charged with that during one of the “Russian marches” he publicly called for violation of the law.

Demushkin submitted the application for the Russian Marche on November 4, 2016 in a few hours of his detention. The declared number of events is from 10 to 15 thousand people. Demushkin said that the Department of Culture of Moscow has not yet answered him on the application for a concert on November 4 - it was submitted on September 27. Last year, Demushkina was detained by the FSB, the day before the “Russian march” was sent to Vologda for interrogation as a witness in the case of a house painted on the wall in one of the areas of the city of Swastiki. Then Demushkin explained the detention with the desire of law enforcement agencies to disrupt the “Russian March”. In Vologda, he was not before.

Dmitry Demushkin is one of the leaders of the Russian nationalist movement , the ex-head of the “Russians” movement, banned in Russia as an extremist since October 2015. It is also one of the organizers of almost all the “Russian marches”, annually held on November 4 since 2005. In recent years, the event has lost popularity-no more than 500 people gathered on the march of 2015.
