“Polite farmers” receive threats

For several days now, the participants of the “Tractor March” – “Polite Farmers” – have been receiving threats on their phones from people who speak with an accent and introduce themselves as employees of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs. This was reported to the hotline by one of the farmers Alexander Matvienko.

In particular, they called Lyudmila Kushnareva and Dmitry Maslov. “They call, speak with an accent, demand to stop gathering and not get involved in politics,” Matvienko said.

According to him, there were no positive changes after the march, press conference and meetings in Moscow, on the contrary, the pressure on the activists increased. There is also persecution in the local press.

Krasnodar farmer Alexander Matvienko told OVD-Info that last night, on October 23, Andrei Ovechkin, a participant in the Tractor March, received three calls from 2 to 5 from certain people who introduced themselves as representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Chechen Republic and demanded that he apologize to the governor of the Krasnodar Territory. Calls also came to the ataman of the village of Kazan, Nikolai Borodin. Nikolai Borodin noted that the callers threatened to kill him and his family and demanded that his activities be stopped. It also became clear to Borodin from the conversation that the callers knew Borodin's address.
