
About 35 thousand people were arrested in Turkey on suspicion of relations with the preacher Fetullah Gulen, whom the authorities are considered the inspirer and the organizer of the failed coup. This was stated by the Minister of Justice of the country Bekir Bozdag, the Turkish edition of Milliyet reports
The minister noted that after an attempt by a coup, 82 thousand people were checked for ties with Gulen. 26 thousand people were released from arrest, but are under supervision. There are 3907 more people on the wanted list.
Bozdag criticized the US authorities, which do not fulfill Turkey’s demand for the arrest and issuance of Gulen. It was reported that the head of the Ministry of Justice of Turkey will go to the United States on October 26-27 to discuss the issue of issuing a preacher and present all the necessary documents allegedly confirming his criminal activity.

On July 20, Erdogan introduced a state of emergency in the country for a period of three months. The next day, the Great National Assembly - the Turkish parliament - approved this decision in 346 votes against 115.
