The Ministry of Justice sent a protocol on an administrative offense to the court in connection with the refusal of the International Historical, Educational, Charitable and Human Rights Society “Memorial” to voluntarily register as a foreign agent.

“They drew up a protocol that since we did not include ourselves voluntarily, this is an offense. This protocol is transferred to the court, then the court will resolve this issue. They believe that we must be included in the register, we, appealing to the decision of the Constitutional Court, since we are an international organization, we believe that we should not. ”

In September, the Ministry of Justice, at the request of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, began an unscheduled documentary verification of the Memorial. In early October, according to the results of the audit, the Ministry of Justice decided to include a “memorial” in the register of organizations performing the functions of a foreign agent.

Zhemkova explained that the Ministry of Justice still did not respond to the objections of the Memorial and did not provide an act of decision to include foreign agents in the register. “When we get this paper, we ourselves will sue ourselves to appeal the decision to include in the register,” added the Executive Director of the Memorial.
