Fortune teller arrested in Nota Bank case

Fortune-teller Nonna Mihai was arrested in the case of fraud with money from Nota-Bank. This was simultaneously reported by the Elephant publication and the Dozhd TV channel , which are part of the same media holding.

According to Dozhd, Nonna Mihai was taken into custody on October 1. "Elephant" calls another date - October 3. Like four other defendants in the case, the fortuneteller is accused of fraud. On October 24, the Moscow City Court rejected Mihai's appeal against his arrest.

According to investigators, Nonna Mihai talked with the sister of the financial director of the bank, Larisa Marchukova. Among other things, they discussed monetary relations. The Rain publication states that Mihai "gave her advice based on divination, card reading, old books and coffee grounds."

During the meeting, Nonna Mihai's lawyer was surprised that the investigators were accusing his client of "fortune-telling, fortune telling, astral accompaniment of fate and other nonsense in the case of scammers in the form of complicity."

  • The Nota-Bank case is connected with the arrest of Dmitry Zakharchenko, an employee of the anti-corruption department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at whose house several billion rubles were found . Galina Marchukova, financial director of the bank, testified against him. According to one version, the money found in Zakharchenko's apartment was stolen from Nota-Bank.
  • In addition to the fortune-teller, four people are involved in the Nota-Bank case: Galina Marchukova, her sister Larisa and co-owners of the credit organization Dmitry Erokhin and his younger brother Vadim. The case was opened after a complaint from the former company of Arkady Rotenberg. In November 2015, the bank's license was revoked.
