Five European countries have extended sanctions against Russia

Montenegro, Albania, Liechtenstein, Norway and Ukraine joined the decision of the European Union to extend for six months of sanctions against Russia, according to the website of the European Council.

“Candidates of Montenegro and Albania, as well as the countries of the European Free Trade Association of Liechtenstein and Norway, which are part of the European economic space, as well as Ukraine join this decision. They will ensure that their national policy complies with the decision of the Council, ”the report said.

The EU “takes on this obligation and welcomes it,” emphasizes in the statement.

The European Council extended sanctions against Russia on September 15. He did not expand the sanctions list, 146 people and 37 legal entities remained in it.

Sanctions against Russia have been operating since 2014. European countries introduced appropriate measures in connection with the accession of Crimea to Russia and the armed conflict in the Donbass. Politics, public figures, security officials, functionaries of self -proclaimed DPR and LPR, as well as Russian military enterprises fell under the sanctions.
