1956. The execution of demonstrators in Budapest

60 years ago, on October 25, 1956, the Soviet tanks included in Budapest opened fire on the manifestants gathered at the parliament building. About 100 people were killed. The fire was provoked by the shelling of the Soviet military, as a result of which one Soviet officer died. As it was established later, state security officers shot from the roofs of houses for provocative purposes. After this massacre in Budapest, reprisals began against state security officers and party functionaries.
