Volgograd human rights activist Igor Nagavkin, who is in a pre-trial detention center on charges of theft, ended his hunger strike , which, according to his own words, he had been conducting since October 12. This is reported by the "Caucasian Knot". According to the publication, the human rights activist began to eat after he was provided with medical assistance. The reason for declaring a hunger strike was precisely the lack of qualified medical care in the pre-trial detention center.
According to lawyer Yuri Bengardt, to whom the publication refers, Nagavkin stopped his hunger strike on October 21.
According to the court decision, Nagavkin should be in custody until November 16. Human rights activists believe that the reason for the persecution was the professional activities of Nagavkin. He himself believes that they were interested in him in connection with attempts to expose the drug mafia in law enforcement agencies.
