The Ministry of Defense will extend the ban on air strikes on Aleppo

The ban on striking Russian and Syrian aviation in the Aleppo area will be extended. This was stated by the chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, Lieutenant General Sergei Rudskoy, Interfax reports.

“Once again, I draw your attention to the fact that from October 18, flights of the Aviation of the Russian Air Force and the Air Force of Syria were completely stopped in the ten -kilometer zone around Aleppo. The moratorium on the blows of Russian and Syrian aviation around this city will be extended, ”he said.

Rudskoy added that during the action of the humanitarian pause, militants fired at residential quarters in the west of Aleppo from mortars and reactive systems 52 times. 15 times the fire opened through the humanitarian corridors, he noted.

As a result of the shelling of one of the humanitarian corridors, three Russian officers were injured. As reported in the center of the Russian Federation to reconcile the warring parties in Syria, they were injured at the point of passing of government troops in the El Mashar region.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the introduction of a humanitarian pause on October 17. The next day, the Russian and Syrian Air Force stopped attacks in the Aleppo area. Officially, the action of the humanitarian pause in the region began on October 20.

On October 23, the Syrian Observator of Human Rights, which was based in London, reported that air strikes had resumed Aleppo and battles began. Whose Air Force applied air strikes, human rights activists did not specify.
