Twitter decided to close the Vine service

The social network Twitter will close the application of the Vine service, with which you can create a six-second looped video. According to the service blog, applications for different platforms will be closed in the coming months. The Vine site will remain, but new vines cannot be created there.

What caused the closure of the service, the message is not specified.

The vines look like this:

• The Vine service appeared in January 2013. Similarweb shows that it had just over 20 million user visits in September. Other sources claim that its audience is 200 million monthly active users.
• Twitter is in crisis right now: it has never learned how to make money. Attempts to sell it were also unsuccessful. On October 27, 2016, the company announced the dismissal of 350 people (this is about 9 percent of all employees).
