One of the leaders of the anti -fascists in Russia and the defendant in the “Swamp business” Alexei Gaskarov was released from the colony in the Tula region. This was announced on the hotline by Aleksey Polikhovich.
The ATS-Infoye at that time was an arrested member of the coordination council of the opposition, Gaskarov was arrested on April 28, 2013-almost a year after the events in Bolotnaya Square, qualified by the Investigative Committee as mass riots. In the final version, he was charged with participation in the riots (part 2 of article 212 of the Criminal Code) and the use of violence against two police officers (part 1 of article 318 of the Criminal Code): one of them allegedly pulled over his shoulder, the other - by the leg. During the dispersal of the demonstration on Bolotnaya on May 6, Gaskarov was greatly beaten by riot police and submitted an application for excess of law enforcement by his powers, but this document did not take any consequences except criminal for the applicant himself.
On August 18, 2014, the Zamoskvoretsky district court of the city of Moscow Gaskarov was by three and a half years in prison in a colony of general regime. The activist refused to admit guilty. He was sent to serve the term of conclusion to IR No. 6 of the Tula region. Gaskarov’s petition for release, but both times they were rejected by the court.
Sentenced twice as a parole on October14, 2016, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg Gaskarov’s complaint about the sentence and gave it priority. Recall that on October 4, the ECHR is a positive decision on a similar complaint of another person involved in the “swamp business” Yaroslav Belousov and ordered the Russian Federation to pay him 12 and a half thousand euros as compensation.
Aleksey Gaskarov, a famous activist of the left movement, anarchist and journalist, communicated . In 2010, he was arrested in the case of the defeat of the Khimki administration and spent several months in prison, where he faced serious pressure from prisoners working on the pre -trial detention center (described in the book “Gaskarov correspondent in hell”).
On July 28, 2010, after a series of brutal attacks on ecologists in Khimki who protested against cutting down forests and the construction of a road route, several hundred anti -fascists and anarchists undertook a direct action against the local administration, assuming that the city authorities are customers of attacks. During the action, at which Gaskarov was present as a journalist of the publication Zhukovsky Vesti, only the walls and glass of the administration building were injured. However, the police saw in Gaskarov the organizer of the action and through pressure on him in the pre -trial detention center tried to “identify customers” of what had happened. In 2011, Gaskarov was fully justified by the Khimkinsky city court.
