Putin gave Russian citizenship to the Ukrainian billionaire

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the provision of Russian citizenship to Ukrainian billionaire Eduard Shifrin. The corresponding document is published on the official portal of legal information.

According to the decree of the head of state, Russian citizenship was also received by the daughter of Shifrin Sofia Rosa, who was born in 2000 in the UK.

Eduard Shifrin is a co-founder of the International Trade and Investment Holding Midland Group. In Moscow, the holding’s structures include the business centers of Midland Plaza and Diamond Hall and the Sail shopping center.

In 2010, Shifrin took 773rd in the world ranking of billionaires according to Forbes. Then the magazine estimated his fortune at $ 1.3 billion. In 2011, the businessman fell out of the global rating and did not include in it anymore. According to the publication, Shifrin is a subject of Great Britain.

Shifrin invested $ 12 million in the film "Inhabited Island" by Fedor Bondarchuk, who was released in 2008. The total budget of the film amounted to $ 36 million.
