Today, October 28, the performance of the artistic director of the Satyrikon Theater Konstantin Raikin on censorship was commented by Oleg Tabakov’s artistic director named after Chekhov.
On October 24, at the congress of the Union of Theater Workers of Russia in Moscow, Raikin criticized censorship and other forms of restriction of freedom of creativity in Russia and called on cultural figures for solidarity.
Oleg Tabakov noted that he could not be present at the congress, but with the essence of Raikin’s performance a sign, TASS reports. “My longtime friend Kostya Raikin spoke at the Congress of theatrical and said about our problems,” said Hudor Mkht.
“We really have characters who are trying to dictate to the artists what they should do. He noted. - It is sometimes not possible to dictate in an unacceptable aggressive form. These comrades, I would call them scouts, jumped out, for example, on the scene of the Art Theater in order to stop the performance that offends their feelings. ”
Tabakov continued these people, "it seems that if there is no censorship, then they should now control art."
“From the height of my great Soviet and post -Soviet experience, I want to tell some impatient comrades: do not bring pork heads to the Moscow Art Theater, do not jump onto the stage during the performances, do not think that you will help to create the right art. You have no opportunity to put a performance or play it, accept it as an axiom, ”said Tabakov.
He recalled that “starting from the late 80s, censorship was canceled in our country,” and added: “I agree with Raikin, this is really a great step. Also in the sense that now everyone presents his talent and his mediocrity without intermediaries. We ourselves have many ways to understand what we do, as our word speaks in public. And therefore, let's work without aggression, which is a very bad sign for our society. ”
Previously, Raikin’s speech was commented on by Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov. In particular, he said that “censorship is in no way acceptable”, but “if the state gives money for some kind of production, the state has the right to indicate a particular topic.”
Culture figures, including the director of the Hermitage, Mikhail Piotrovsky, the artistic director of the Tovstonogov BDT, Andrei Mogeliy, the artistic director of the Lenkom Theater, Mark Zakharov and film director Andrei Zvyagintsev , who mentioned the statement of the presidential press secretary: “Peskov says without the fidelity of his judgment, since the state pays the artist pays the artist, who pays the artist, and he says. That, therefore, the artist must serve him - states - will, "while" not an artist owes the state, and the state is obliged to help the artist. "
