However, after the activist got up from the rest, the police had no reasons for the detention.

About 150 people participated in the action, which took place in the form of a walk. The column passed along the Vasilievsky Island. Activists held a series of single pickets. In the hands of the participants of the action were posters with portraits of Anna Politkovskaya, Boris Nemtsov, Nikolai Girenko, Natalia Estemirova and others.

The column was accompanied by about 15 policemen. They periodically demanded to remove posters and flags, but in general the action did not interfere.

March against hatred in St. Petersburg

While Stekanov was in the police department, the police stole materials from the office of the center prepared for the march.

The march against hatred in St. Petersburg has been held since 2004 in memory of the murdered human rights activist Nikolai Girenko, who acted as an expert in crimes on the basis of hatred. The public action is timed to the day of his birth.
