That Saturday, Valery Ernstovich was going to the university. Suddenly a friend called a strange question: "What flight Sasha and Lenya fly?" (Sasha - Leni Bride.)
“She said that on TV they gave the plane from Egypt to disaster,” Gordin recalls. - While we were driving in a taxi to the airport, we transferred different things on the radio: either the plane hit the radars, then did not hit ... There was hope. But when we were brought to Krown Plaza, it became clear that everyone was killed. ”
Valery Gordin does not go into details, as this year passed for him: “It was necessary to plunge into something. I had a job, a family, a younger 10-year-old son. I was looking for outlets. "
Many relatives are trying to keep the memory of the dead, publishing their photographs, memories on social networks. Valery Gordin found his way: “There is a demonstration memory, but there is an active one. Demonstration - when there is a memorial, and you went once, two, five, every week you go - you pay tribute. And you can keep the memory through some actions-to do some kind of good deeds. ”

Valery Gordin first became the co-founder of the flight 9268 Foundation, uniting the relatives of the dead, and then realized that he wanted to do something in memory of his son.
Lenya adored animals and often tried to turn his father into his faith, but his father only chuckled.
“He understood them what caused me a certain irony. He even instructed me. Until the fact that when I was going to start a cat (my wife wanted to be a British), he dissuaded: "Why buy - take it in a shelter." I say: "But I want the British." And he: "In the shelter you can find a British, anyone." As a result, we still bought a cat Kesh. Yes, I was far from the zoo protection. Absolutely. I did not perceive him and, let's say, unsuccessfully believed that people are more valuable. ”
The answer to the question of what pleased Lenya was obvious, and in April the Fund for helping the homeless animal “Lenkin Cat” appeared. “This is an active memory,” the father says. “We must live, bringing it to the world not bitterness and sorrow, but good, positive.”
In the summer of 2010, Lenya found Kysy. Someone threw the kitten out of the window, but he survived. Kysya and Lenya in 5 years have become best friends. “It was a real pocket cat,” the father recalls.
A month before Lenin's trip to Egypt, Kysya was lost. Lenya organized a search with the involvement of “losses”, volunteers, searched for 2 weeks. A few days before departure, he was informed that they had found a similar kitten on Okhta. Lenya brought him home and was happy. He flew to Egypt pleased. “True, he said that the character of the kitten deteriorated, they say, after a two -week starvation, the psyche Kyshi was shaken, and he terrorizes two other cats. I even suggested lulling him, and he replied: "Now, if I get sick, will you put me to sleep too?"
Already after the Lenin departure, it turned out that the cat found was an exact copy of Kysi, but not Kysy. In addition, not a cat, but a cat. But Lenya never found out about it.
Lenya Gordin and Sasha Illarionov were familiar for a long time. Sasha’s mother was a student Valery Ernstovich. “We have been familiar with Sasha’s mother for 40 years,” he says. - And I know the daughter -in -law since childhood. Once, her mother and I met at some next event and talked: "Well, how is Sasha?" - "Yes, nothing." - "And Lenya?" - "Nothing too." “Let's go somewhere together ... We don’t lose anything, they don’t lose anything, adults, 27 and 28 years old.” They met once, met two ... and went. "
The guys were going to announce the wedding planned on April 1 after returning from Egypt. “I told him: listen, serious things are not committed on April 1. But he is so ... frivolous. As our common acquaintance said well: his happiness is that he managed to live his 29 years easily. He reminded me of a cat - big and kind, - the father smiles. - And I all the time blamed him for his excess weight ... "

“I am not a typical zoo defender,” Gordin continues. - If it were not for the death of my son, then, as a person is tough, not sentimental, I would hardly have gone to it. But, since what happened happened, something changed even in my pragmatic consciousness. If earlier this area was beyond my worldview, now I understand: it is already inside my society, my problems, interests. ”
After communicating with the zoo guards, two areas of the fund’s work were born: rental of free medical equipment for shelters and work with older people who hold cats and dogs at home. “The situation with charity in this area is not very good,” says Valery Gordin. -Shelters ... in a semi-legal situation because of the bureaucracy. People sacrifice extremely few on them. There are not enough volunteers. One of the biggest problems is treatment: terribly lacking equipment, from the simplest to high -tech. ”
So the idea of creating a free rental center was born on the basis of one of the city veterinary clinics. Shelters get the opportunity to take the necessary equipment for free.
The second project is to prevent the homelessness of animals living in single people over 70 years old. The project involves the sterilization of such four -legged ones, their chipping is in case they are lost. Together with the district department of social protection, a register of single people who have pets, as well as a register of new owners who are ready to take such animals if necessary, will be created.
The fund was supported by the city administration. The pilot was chosen by the Kalininsky district of St. Petersburg. “We just started to prepare - we consulted with psychologists how to talk with such people, to explain to them that we want to take care of the future of their animals, and suddenly a call from veterinary management: an apartment is settled in debts in which a huge number of cats live. They did not even know how many of them were there, but it turned out to be more than 60 (!) In a 2-room apartment. We still spend all our forces and means on these cats. We successfully turned up to them, otherwise they would all be on the street now. ”
The third project is an exhibition of illustrations "Friend". They have a friendship between people and animals.
“When I had an anniversary and Lenya was alive,” says Valery Gordin, “I asked my friends and colleagues not to give me anything, but to give the money to help the cancer patient.” I showed them a photo, said that with him. Lenka then really liked it. He advised many to do the same. But I began to help animals only after what happened ... I am sure that this would make it happy about my son.
When the article was prepared, we could not get through to Gordin in any way to coordinate the last edits. The phone was silent. It turned out that Valery Ernstovich went to the laying of stone, where it is planned to erect a monument to the dead in a plane crash. The "Memory Garden" should open in 2017.
