Detained participants of a protest rally in Makhachkala were accused of hooliganism

On October 31, the participants of the rally demanding the resignation of the mayor of Makhachkala are charged with an administrative offense under the article “petty hooliganism” (20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), which provides for a punishment of up to 15 days of arrest. This was reported by the city's online publication Novoe Delo, citing the father of one of the detainees.

Where the detainees are and when the trial will take place is unknown at the time of writing. According to various sources , from two to eight people were detained. The detentions took place at a spontaneous rally demanding the resignation of the head of the administration of Makhachkala near the city hall on Lenin Square after the mass poisoning of the city's residents with drinking water. Several participants of the rally were allowed into the building of the mayor's office, where they were met by the deputy mayor of the capital. The protesters plan to file a notice and hold the next rally on November 15.
