Protocols were drawn up against the defenders of Sunsky Bor for collecting dead wood

As reported on the website Activatica.org, on the morning of October 31, policemen and a state inspector for nature protection came to the defenders of Sunsky Bor in the Karelian region. On duty Nina Shalaeva and Svetlana Yakut, protocols were drawn up under Art. 8.28 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (illegal logging) - for collecting deadwood for a fire.

Also, the police took away the saw from the protesters against cutting down the pine forest - without compiling any documents.

Residents of the village of Suna have been fighting for several years against the plans of the Saturn Nordstroy company to set up a sand pit on the site of the forest. Residents set up camp in the forest to prevent the logging that began this summer. They insist that in the place where the quarry should be, rare species of moss and lichen, listed in the Red Book, grow. Saturn Nordstroy received permission to carry out work here on the condition that the forest plants be saved - they will literally be moved away from the felling on the sawn bark of trees. However, protesting local residents insist that the possibility of saving the plants in this way is only theoretical, and that most plants will still die if they are transplanted.
