“It is on the Internet that new opportunities appear for the promotion of anti -Semitism, extremism, and recruitment to terrorist organizations,” Fedotov noted.

“Anti -Semitism, in my opinion, is similar to a bad disease similar to syphilis. And if a person who suffers from this disease is embarrassed by it, then, unfortunately, we often face the situation that the anti -Semites are not shy, ”the head of the HRC added. He expressed confidence that it is necessary to deal with anti -Semitism on the Internet, since Russia alone cannot cope.

According to the results of the Levada Center study, about which its director Lev Gudkov spoke at the conference, "the core of anti-Semitic attitudes is not very significantly and is gradually reduced."

“If in 1992 it was 10-15%, today it is approximately 8-10%, these are the most aggressive forms of anti -Semitism,” he said.

“I would be worried that anti -Semitism disappeared or weakened. The whole structure of anti -Semitic representations has been preserved unchanged. We can say that anti -Semitism has passed into the sleeping phase, ”Gudkov believes.

According to him, “anti -Semitism in itself even on the Internet, where the radical part of the nationalists goes, does not represent a systemic, consistently worked out ideology; All this leads to the fact that the manifestations of anti -Semitism are slowly but noticeably reduced. ”
