The heir to the avant -garde Yakov Halip ”is the first full retrospective of the classic of Russian photography.
The case of the works of Yakov Khalip over the past 35 years has remained without proper research, the organizers of the exhibition noted. The constitution based on the family archive, the collection of the Center for the Photography of the Lyumier Brothers and private collections, will dare to trace the development of Soviet photography-from the avant-garde 1920s to the stagnant 1970s-in the mirror of the fate of one photographer.
In addition to the classic works of the Halip-filming at the film studios (late 1920s-early 1930s), the experiments of the photo-province, together with Alexander Rodchenko and the magazine "USSR at a construction site" (1930s), a series dedicated to the salvation of the Papaninsky expedition (1938), military photo reports with Konstantin Simonov (1941–1945) and the years) and thawing filming (1950s-1970s)-the exhibition will first show just attributed photos from the filming of films of the late 1920s, advertising pictures for the Intourist agency, unpublished personnel of the 1930s and 1960s.
In addition, the exposition will include archival video materials of the Arctic expedition, fragments of early Soviet cinema, joint movies with Konstantin Simonov, dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, newsreels of the 1960s and materials from the Khalip family archive.
At the exhibition, the first photo album of Jacob Khalip will be presented, a lecture program is planned.
Exhibition "Conquest. The heir to the avant -garde Yakov Khalip ” will last until December 11 .
