How often do you have to insert letters into ready -made words throughout adulthood? Do you highlight the basis of the word? And the postfix? Green ink? No, of course, if you graduated from the Faculty of Philology or the Linguistic Institute, then you are supposed to be a language pathologist. But if you are an engineer, economist, doctor (how are you with handwriting, by the way?)? What happens to the Russian language at school and why do few people understand this seemingly native subject from infancy?
“Our Misha has a firm four in Russian, but when he signed the postcards to the grandmother, the mistakes go straight from the sheet”, “What is the root in the word“ give ”? We have already broken the whole head here, and the time is ten in the evening ” - parents do not understand: there are plenty of Russian language lessons at school (although the teachers are not enough), but the child is not ready for the exam on the subject (hired a tutor), it is not possible to write an explanatory, and really, without“ shortly ”and“ shorter ”, can not tell about the point.
So far, the Russian language will exist within the framework of one office - the office of the Russian language and literature - it will not be enough of it. Among the students, the popular phrase wanders: “Do you also check the mistakes in the laboratory? We are not in Russian! " While the child will methodically insert letters into words according to the rules, which for some reason more often need to learn word for word (and God forbid you will retell them in its own way), the Russian language will settle only on the dusty portraits of the classics in the same office. In my opinion, it is high time for teachers of literature to admit that the Russian language is an applied discipline, it is a tool that allows you to study, comprehend, learn. No need to build Russian to the Absolute, they need to teach to use.
The teacher at the university did not notice me, or rather, he did not take at all seriously what I propose. And not because I did not know how to teach the Russian language children of different ages and level of training (I did not know, of course), but because I did not agree with the very presentation of teaching at school. Firstly, when I was a schoolgirl, for a long time I could not understand what the involved turnover is: where it should be put, from which side he needed a comma, what kind of design it is. The teacher preferred me not to notice either. But as you know, after the involved turnover in the Russian language, the participle turnover arises. It was a disaster of universal scale. My puberty did not allow me to bite for a long time, I postponed the whole Russian language aside and trusted all my favorite “natural literacy”, which in nature, as it turned out later, was not. And then one day, reading the paragraph in physics, boring and tight, I noticed the involved turnover in the text, reading further, I noticed the participle, and it dawned on me! Remembering my own experience on the methodology at the university, I promoted (and continue to do this) the study of the Russian language through other subjects.
How does this work. I ask the children to bring a textbook on physics to a lesson (algebra, geometry, biology - emphasize the right one). We begin to read the paragraphs given at home, looking for echoes of the rules that we need. We destroy several birds with one stone at once - and we read the paragraph in physics, and the Russian language was found in life.
I also periodically take texts for dictations from the Code of Samurai “Busido” (I once spied this idea with Dmitry Bykov), because there are many memorable moments that are perfectly in the student’s head: “There are five varieties of spies, internal spies, double agents, false and fugitive spies” (repeated doubles after a generalized word). Here we also add the decoding with the words of mathematical examples (“Two X Square Plus Igrek is eight”), the collection of a collection of errors from signs and billboards, the speech of the movie heroes - in general, we have fun as we can. The task is to expel the Russian language outside the office, children must understand, skin to feel: language is their life.
