The leader of the Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, made his support, calling his supporters to new attacks on goals in Turkey and Saudi Arabia. According to the German Wave, in the audio show he also called on his adherents not to hand over the Iraqi city of Mosul.
The authenticity of more than a half-hour message of Al-Baghdadi has not yet been confirmed. This is the first time that the leader of the IG has made an audit of supporters in more than a year. Where exactly he is is unknown.
Earlier, the media suggested that the head of the IG was killed at the air strike of the coalition led by the United States. It was claimed that Abu Bakr died in the capital of the Islamic State - the Syrian city of Rakke - on the 5th day of the month of Ramadan, that is, June 11.
In Mosul, from three to five thousand IG militants operate. At the same time, there are about 1.5 million civilians in the city. Of these, only 17.9 thousand people were able to leave the mosul from the beginning of the offensive. The UN is afraid that the number of refugees from Mosul in the end may exceed 700 thousand people.
The Prime Minister of Iraq Haidar al-Abadi announced the beginning of the Mosul Liberation operation on October 17 . A week later, on the 23rd, it was reported that government troops entrenched 5 kilometers from the city .
Mosul has been under the control of IS for more than two years. It was after the capture of Mosul that al-Baghdadi declared his group by the World Caliphate.
