LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov impoverished 30 billion rubles after Russian President Vladimir Putin invited his company to take part in the privatization of the Rosneft State Pacete. This assessment is given by Finanz.
Alekperov is the main shareholder of Lukoila with a share of 22.7%. On November 2, the company's securities fell by 3.9%, and the next day at the beginning of the tender of the Moscow Exchange - another 1%, having fallen to a minimum since mid -September. As a result, the capitalization of the company decreased by a total of 130 billion rubles.
The fact that Putin in a personal conversation with Alekperov invited Lukoil to become one of Rosneft's shares, the Vedomosti newspaper wrote with reference to unnamed sources on November 2. At the same time, Alekperov has repeatedly stated that his company would not participate in the privatization of Rosneft.
By the end of 2016, the government plans to privatize 19.5% of Rosneft shares. In early October , it became known that Rosneft could buy a package of its shares from the state itself, but later the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Alexei Ulyukaev said that such a scheme would be possible only if a third -party investor could not be found to privatize Rosneft. In turn, Putin explained that Rosneft ransom of his shares will be only an intermediate stage before real privatization with the involvement of strategic investors.
On November 2, the Energia Foundation, controlled by the former Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Igor Yusufov, indicated that Rosneft, after redeeming its shares, could offer part of their management and employees of the company.
“This measure of motivation is widespread in both Russian and international companies and can be an additional effective element aimed at increasing the capitalization of the company and its successful development. The remaining part of the shares may well be brought to Russian exchanges and implemented as a public proposal, ”the fund noted.
Rosneft spokeswoman Mikhail Leontyev did not comment on the fund proposals of the Fund on November 3. According to Leontyev, "it surprised him, but did not outraged him." Earlier, he said that Rosneft is “not ashamed” of the prospects for redeeming its shares, since the company is “fundamentally underestimated” and its leadership believes “in the tremendous potential” of increasing its capitalization.
