Anarchist from Yevpatoria arrested for 10 days

A resident of Yevpatoria, anarchist Sergei Vasilchenko was arrested for 10 days on charges of distributing extremist materials after a search of his home on November 3. As Alexey Shestakovich said on November 4, Sergei’s mother Nina Vasilchenko told him about this. There was no information available about the circumstances of the case in court and about the details of the case itself at the time of writing.

OVD-Info Maria Bast wrote about the search of Vasilchenko on her VKontakte page. According to her, the search was carried out by employees of the regional center “E”, after the search Vasilchenko was detained. “The versions of the accusations are still different, from violations of protest rules to contacts with the Islamic State,” the message says. His mother was able to find out where the detainee was taken only the next day at the Simfrapol center “E”.

During the search on November 3, police officers threatened Sergei's elderly father with a pistol, and a computer was seized. After the search, Vasilchenko was taken to the Simferopol department of the “E” center, where a report was drawn up against him under Article 20.29 of the Administrative Code, and from there he was taken to court in Yevpatoria, after which Vasilchenko was placed in the Yevpatoria temporary detention center.
