The UN will develop recommendations for the use of unmanned vehicles and their protection against cyber attacks, reports Nikkei.

Recommendations will not be required for execution, but may become the basis for countries that want to develop their legislation related to unmanned cars. It is expected that the United States, Japan and European countries will be attended in its development. According to the publication, they will be accepted in mid -November.

Recommendations will be developed due to the risk of cyber attacks for cars that are connected to the Internet. They will affect the principles of encryption of data and signals of the car. Another part of the document will contain the requirement to divide the communication systems from the car management systems.

According to the publication, the recommendations can also be spelled out by switching an unmanned mode to driving a car with a driver when malfunctions appear in the system. In case of attempting to hack the vehicle, the autopilot will have to warn the driver and park.

It is clarified that it was recently discovered that some General Motors cars can be controlled remotely.
