A Russian citizen was stabbed to death in the capital of Ecuador. This was told by the representative of the Russian Embassy Nikita Kuznetsov. According to him, the Russian was killed after a quarrel with an Ecuadorian at a nightclub in the city of Quito.
The name of the murdered Russian citizen was not named at the embassy. Kuznetsov said that the Russian was 43 years old.
As Nikita Kuznetsov said, the alleged killer of the Russian was not detained. It is known that he is a native of the province of Esmeraldas, located in the northwest of the country near the Pacific Ocean.
The Russian Embassy expresses condolences to the family of the deceased and asks tourists and Russian citizens permanently residing in Ecuador to be careful - even popular tourist places can be unsafe at night, the diplomat noted.
