Moskalkova opposed the prohibition of the baby boxes

The Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkova, at a meeting with students of RUDNN, expressed the opinion that it takes time to understand the need for baby boxes or their harm.

“I believe that nothing can be ruled out that the life of a little person could save. If it works, then this practice should be allowed to accumulate in order to then draw any conclusions,” RIA Novosti quoted Moskalkova to the question of one of the participants in the meeting.

The Ombudsman also added that, in her opinion, the "windows of life" cannot stimulate the rejection of the child. On the contrary, it transfers its words "rain" , the ban on the beby-boxes can lead to an increase in the number of cases of inhuman handling with children.

Recall that the first devices for anonymous transfer to doctors of newborn children appeared in Russia in 2011. Now in the 11 regions of the Russian Federation 20 Baby boxes have been installed, in 16 entities, negotiations are underway regarding their installation.

Senator Elena Mizulina spoke with a proposal to introduce a ban on the “windows of life”. At the end of September this year, she hastened to report that the government approved its bill, but then it turned out that this was not so. It also became known that more than 260 thousand people signed a petition on the Change.org portal against the legislative ban-boxes.

The bill Mizulina provoked hot disputes in society and the negative review of the government, which has advocated a significant refinement of this document. However, Mizulina refused to amend her bill. The senator said that she does not see the point of finalizing it before the first reading in the State Duma, "more logical to amend the second reading."
