On November 8, the Supreme Court of Crimea reduced the fine of Crimean businessman Marlen Asanov by five thousand rubles, who is accused of violating the procedure for holding a public event during the events that occurred on May 12 in Bakhchisarai, as a result of which four people were detained on suspicion of participation in the Hizb ut organization -Tahrir." This was reported by the publication “Crimea. Realities" with reference to Crimean lawyer Emil Kurbedinov.
“Today the appeal court did not accept any of Marlen Asanov’s defense arguments. The only thing is that his fine was reduced by 5 thousand rubles. Now you need to pay not 20, but 15 thousand rubles. This decision can be appealed in cassation, but the fact is that this method of defense is considered ineffective. Now we will file a claim with the European Court of Human Rights and wait for a response from there,” Kurbedinov told Crimea. Realities."
