Social dances
The head of the dance studio "Aventura" Veronika Novikova asked me, as a slightly involved layman, to write a couple of lines about social dances. Since he wrote, let him hang here.
What are social dances?
In my view, dances were always divided into two main directions- professional, pop, pop and the like when the dancer dances for the viewer, and unprofessional- when somewhere in a nightclub or at a rural disco, knowing several basic movements, moves to the music for himself. However, it turned out that there is a golden middle- when a person dances for himself and for the public, he is not a professional dancer, but at the same time he can “light” others. So, what people who decide to engage in social dances are discovered:
1. This is a good fitness. If you are bored of studying in the hall, then on social dances you can combine pleasant with useful exercises and interesting pastime.
2. The culture and history of the countries in which this or that dance originated, or was popular. One way or another, as you study the dance, you will plunge into music, history, geography. A wonderful way to enlighten in the modern world.
3. Socialization. Hence the name, social dances, this is primarily communication with people close in spirit and interests. A great opportunity to get acquainted with like -minded people.
4. Subculture. Social dancing is its own party, with parties, traditions, long-distance and international ties. To someone is closer to KVN, football fan movements, bikers or rock music. But if you have not found yourself in any of the other subcultures, you may like it here.
In the summer of 2015, in some fear I came to the first lesson. Almost immediately, I was offered to participate in a flash mob: several dozen couples were supposed to dance Kizuba in the city center. It was scary, much did not work, but after a month and a half of training, something began to loom. And let me never become a professional in this direction, to convey all the positive emotions that I received at the end of this event, it is impossible to describe in words!
