November 13, 12:00
Moscow, State Museum of the East, Nikitsky Boulevard, 12a
The meeting will be devoted to the interaction of the intelligentsia and power. In China, this is not the same as we saw in the USSR, but the parallels, of course, are visible. In China, power is concentrated and distributed, but this is imperceptible, because every person endowed with at least minimal power wants to hide in the shadow of the emperor. Along with this, there is a community of scientists, intellectuals who cooperate with the leadership of the country. But, as Academician Sakharov joked when he was told that he has access to high floors of power: "There is access, but he is always on the other side of the window."
