Costs for maintaining the Olympic Park will be halved

The authorities of the Krasnodar region intend to reduce the cost of maintaining the Olympic Park in 2017.

The entire state program “Development of the Sanatorium-Resort and Tourist Complex” is subject to reduction, this is due to the optimization of the region’s expenses.

Costs for maintaining the Olympic Park in Sochi in 2017 will be halved - from 324 million rubles. up to 160 million rubles, representatives of the economic block of the regional administration reported. In 2014-2015, more than 500 million rubles were allocated for the maintenance of the park. per year under the program “Development of the sanatorium-resort and tourist complex.” The program was financed from the municipal budget of Sochi and the regional budget.

“Under this state program, 60% of funds for the maintenance of the park are allocated from the regional budget, 40% from the municipal budget of Sochi. The territory of the Olympic Park is municipal property, the amount is prohibitive for a resort city, so the region allocated subsidies,” said a representative of the regional administration.

The financing of the Olympic Park in question involves the maintenance of an area of ​​51 hectares. These are green spaces, lawns, 26 real estate objects, as well as the “Olympic Flame Bowl” fountain, asphalt surfaces, playgrounds, and toilets.

In times of crisis, authorities try to reduce as much as possible all expenses that they do not consider a priority.

“In today's realities, this is the only tool for maintaining a balanced budget. When forming the draft budget for the coming year and the planning period until 2019, we were guided by the same task. Limited financial resources force us to set priorities very strictly, cutting off non-priority expenses and pushing back the deadlines for the implementation of individual activities,” said Vice Governor Igor Galas

Earlier it became known that they plan to spend 76.4 million rubles on the care of the “Bowl of Olympic Flame” fountain, located in the Olympic Park. This cost includes work on the comprehensive maintenance and operation of the internal engineering systems of the water attraction and cleaning of the Olympic Flame Bowl structure, Kommersant reports.

Last week, the regional authorities published the draft budget for 2017 and the planning period 2018-2019. It is planned that the budget will be deficit for all three years.
