"Immediately after we get the motivating part of the court decision, we will bring LinkedIn to the register of violators of the rights of personal data subjects and send the operators a notice of blocking this resource," said Roskomnadzor spokesman Vadim Ampelonsky. On August 4, the Tagansky district court of Moscow satisfied the lawsuit of Roskomnadzor , obliging the service to take measures to restrict access to LinkedIn and make the site to the register of violators of the rights of personal data subjects. The department indicated in its lawsuit that the collection and transfer of these Russians, including without their consent, violates the law "on personal data", "rights and freedom of man and citizen, including the right to inviolability of his private life, personal and family secrets."

Ampelonsky explained that his department reacted "to media reports that relate to problems of the safety of personal data of Russian citizens." "So, since 2010, the LinkedIn network has had large scandals related to user data leakage. Therefore, this summer we sent two letters to them in the pre -trial order with a request to provide information on the execution of the law on the localization of personal data in Russia," Ampelonsky said.

He noted that in response, the company sent “two unsubscribes” that did not give an answer on the merits of the questions asked. "In full accordance with the algorithm of interaction with foreign companies that do not have a representative office in Russia, we took advantage of our right to appeal to the court. And on August 4, the Tagan court satisfied our lawsuit, deciding to introduce this social network to the register of violators of the rights of personal data subjects," Ampelonsky explained.

LinkedIn is the world's largest social network to establish business relations and work. As of 2015, the total number of registered network participants exceeded 400 million people, of which 5 million registrations were on the Russian segment.

In 2016, Roskomnadzor planned to conduct more than a thousand checks of personal data operators. The data storage procedure will be checked in IT and Internet companies.
