President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has apologized to President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko for the incident with the civil aircraft of the Belavia airline. This is reported by the agency BELTA.
During a telephone conversation, Poroshenko noted that the perpetrators were punished.
The heads of state agreed that the relevant services would soon hold consultations on security cooperation to prevent such incidents.
Recall, on October 21, a passenger plane of the Belavia company, flying from Kyiv to Minsk, was returned to Zhuliany at the request of Ukraine. The liner was returned due to the fact that among the passengers was Anti-Maidan activist Armen Martirosyan.
The chief of staff of the head of the SBU, Alexander Tkachuk, said that the plane was returned to Kyiv so that the security forces could make sure that there was no threat to national security. He denied information about threats to raise fighter jets into the air.
In connection with the threats, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry protested to Ukraine because of the aircraft returned to Kiev.
