The case of ex-deputy Olga Li about defamation of a judge was transferred to the same court

The case of the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "People's Journalist" and ex-deputy of the Kursk Regional Duma Olga Li about slander against a judge was transferred to the Leninsky District Court of Kursk. This was reported on November 10 by Pravo.ru.

Li is accused of committing a crime under part 1 of Article 298.1 of the Criminal Code (slandering a judge, in connection with the consideration of the case in court, the maximum sanction is up to three hundred and sixty hours of compulsory work) for the note she wrote in the People's Journalist, “Application for bringing prosecutor of the region Filimonov to criminal liability.

In it, the ex-deputy accused the judge of the same Leninsky District Court of Kursk, Lyudmila Shurova, of violating the constitutional principle of the presumption of innocence when considering one of the administrative cases: the judge fined 30,000 rubles and appointed three days of administrative arrest to a freelancer of the newspaper, which organized a solitary picket.

The note indicated that, as part of the consideration of the case, Shurov “shouted like a habalka” and admitted the guilt of the correspondent “even before reading his materials.”

Shurova complained to the prosecutor's office, which, seeing signs of slander in the publication, transferred the materials to the Investigative Committee of the ICR for a decision to initiate a criminal case.
