Why did “normal” democracy come to an end?

The victory of the billionaire Donald Trump in the election of the US President naturally continues a number of democratic surprises that the world has encountered in the past few years. The successes of radically anti -liberal politicians and movements in Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, as well as the summer protest voting in England, which threw the country from the European Union, clearly showed: the usual world is rapidly changing. However, the United States has still been an example of a “normal country” with “normal democracy” and “normal politicians”. If somewhere they can choose a narcissistic populist by president without any experience in political activity and public administration, which sows discord and despises all the norms of decency, then the USA is just the same country in which this certainly cannot happen. Therefore, what happened is so difficult to lay in my head: America seemed to commit suicide, destroying at the same time all the ideas about the norm that it has been distributed for so long and diligently on the planet. Trump’s Xenophobic views, his isolationist program, a contemptuous manner and authoritarian manners cause predictable rejection and make us ask the question of how the American system could allow him to come to power.
