The Canadian writer, poet and musician Leonard Cohen died at the age of 82. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Sony Music Canada label, which released its compositions. The magazine Rolling Stone calls Cohen one of the most influential creators of his generation, comparing him with Bob Dylan, the holder of the Nobel Prize in the literature of this year.

The recording company said that Cohen died in Los Angeles. In this city, its funeral should be held soon.

The causes of death have not yet been reported. "The Cohen family asks to respect their privacy during mourning," the label said in a statement.
